Soul Sustenance for Godly Students

In present time, do we even realise this truth, that our body made up of matter (5 elements of nature - water, air, earth, fire and space) is operated by a sentient and immortal entity, the eternal spark of life and light, which is the 'Self', the 'Soul'.

Do we understand that, 'I am the Soul', the reason of life and the one who lives life? We normally use the word Soul, but an understanding that I am a Soul, not this body, is much less thought or experienced.

"Hundreds of years of deep meditation", as they say "is required to attain complete soul consciousness", which they call being one with God. But that isn't true. Even think about this. How can one need hundreds of years to only experience his own inner self, his consciousness? Thus to say, the soul (me) knows that 'I am a Soul', and if it knows then it is natural to experience a consciousness of being a soul!

Watch our Film: Who am I?  and  Discover YourSelf

The body is like a temple and the soul is like the deity who lives within. You may also say that body is like a car and the soul is its driver. The body is a well-assembled instrument in the shape of various organs that are controlled and used by the soul through the brain, which acts like a computer. So we the mind and the self (soul) needs to be cared as we care for our body.

The soul is a tiny star, which lives in the body in the hypothalamus, where it is connected to the nervous and endocrine systems. Know more on Day 1- Who am I.

To discover the Self, one must turn attention within to experience the peace and happiness that he was searching outside. For that, we have created this Soul Sustenance website to sustain with everyday services.

''Of A Being, His 'Will' is the best friend and the same 'Will' is also a great enemy''  - Shrimat Geeta's verse

Will (Iccha, Wanting, Desire) is known to be the wanting or desrie to do something, for a specific fruit or result. This will can be good or bad. When is good, it is the Best Friend of the master (Soul), when is bad, it is indeed the greatest enemy.!

The soul has three faculties which the body or anything else made of matter does not possess. These are the ability to think (wish or will), the ability to judge (understand or investigate), and the ability to retain impressions of past experiences in the form of attitudes, moods and habits.

The first of these faculties is known as the mind, the second as intellect and the third, is our sanskars, (impression).

It is these abilities that distinguish one person from another and determine the mental and moral state of a person. One who is given to violence or other evils is known as a sinner, and one who makes efforts to purify his thoughts, words and actions is known as a great soul. One who is completely viceless, is full in all virtues, is called a deity (deity is also a human). It is the soul that experiences the reward or punishment for its good or bad actions, for the mind is not an entity separate from the soul, it is a faculty of the soul.

For instance, Clothes are facility to the body. Clothes gets wet in rain, but it is the body who suffers from Cold, due to the wet clothes. Hence, the Soul suffers due to an ill body or gets reward of good action. Soul is the creator of its mind, intellect and body. Thus He enjoys all the fruits of His own actions (Karma) through means of mind and body. These are God's revelations. (Murli
